Born in Taiwan, played both piano and cello until teenage years. Shinyin was offered full scholarship to study piano with Paul Schenly at The Cleveland Institute of Music, USA at the age of sixteen, she completed both bachelor and master degree in piano performance during the years in the States.


She also had additional studies with Vivian Vronsky Babin, Artur Balsam, Seymour Lipkin, Jerome Lowenthal, Sergei Babayan, accompaniment and chamber music with Anne Epperson. Prize winners of piano competitions in Taiwan and USA.


Lea has given solo recitals in the US, Taiwan and Sweden, playing concerto both in USA and Taiwan; avid chamber musician and was the founder of L’epoque Chamber Ensemble, playing concerts both in Taiwan and Japan.


As a prize winner of piano competitions in both the US and Taiwan, she has been guest artist at The Pacific Music Festival in Japan where she played concerts with principles players of Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic, NHK Symphony Orchestra; at home in Taiwan she also played with renowned musicians at different concert halls.


Lea worked as piano lecturer at Tainan University, Taitung University, her students have won numerous competitions and was awarded scholarships for further studies in USA and Europe. She now resides in Sweden and work at Halmstad Kulturskola when not giving regular recitals.
